So you fancy working in Walt Disney World in Florida? Well here's an overview of Disney's Cultural Representative Program that gives young adults the chance to work in Walt Disney World for a whole year!
In short, this is an opportunity for you to share your culture whilst working in the number one tourist destination in the world. Opportunities like this don't come around very often and I speak from experience when I say GO FOR IT! |
The Program !
Disney's Cultural Representative Program allows young adults to work in the Walt Disney World resort (Orlando, Florida, USA) for one year in a location where they may authentically represent their culture. For most participants, this is in Epcot's World Showcase (a collection of 11 pavilions that represent 11 countries from around the world featuring architecture, shops, restaurants and occasionally attractions themed to those countries) but other locations include Disney's Animal Kingdom and Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge for representatives from select countries e.g. South Africa.
Disney provides housing, events and transport for participants, the cost of which is included in participants' rent which is automatically deducted from pay cheques each week. The program is currently open to individuals aged over 18, those that speak fluent English and those that have a valid passport for the country they may represent (e.g. you must have a valid UK passport to work in the UK pavilion). No need to have gone to university, you don't need a visa already and you don't need particular work experience. Learn more about the program and find out how to apply below.

LivingDisney provides housing for the cast members on the program. 4 housing complexes house 6,000+ cast members and the living experience is most similar to that of university accommodation.
Disney housing offers a very unique living experience with regular special events, a diverse community of cultures and a great social environment. For more on housing Click Here. |
Possible RolesDepending on which pavilion you work in determines the roles that are available to you. Typically Merchandise and Food & Beverage are as standard and then some pavilions provide attractions roles such as Canada, Japan, Norway and Mexico that each have theatre experiences or boat rides.
